Booster plug on twin cam

I went with the plug and play option as I didn't want cut cables on a bike in warranty I don't like to give them any excuse to say no mate that's not covered because this has been cut, that in its self is worth the 50 euros :thumb

Well noted. :D I tend to forget that point of view... not a single one of the bikes I've ever owned has come to me with any of it's factory warranty remaining.

Hi All

First post - I have a 2011 GS Triple Black and, today, fitted the extended (with temperature sensor) Accelerator module. I am pretty useless at general DIY / fitting stuff but found the process straightforward.

I am very pleased with the results - the engine is definitely smoother with reduced vibrations. The engine is much sweeter at low revs than before which means that I am able to hold a higher gear and the control at low speeds, in low gears, is also much improved. I don't know whether this modification would also have an effect on torque, but that seems to have improved too (may just be psychological because of the improved smoothness)? I can highly recommend this modification.

I've also just bought a Remus titanium slip-on exhaust and so I hope that the improved fueling will help when I have this fitted too (I think I'll take it to the garage to be fitted though as, per my first comment, my DIY skills are almost non-existent).

Cheers

i got mine 2 weeks ago and fitted it, done nealry 1,000 miles and TBH i havn't noticed any difference whatsoever:tears

Booster Plug on '10 1200GSA

Hi,
Thought I would feedback that after fitting the booster plug, the bike is smoother, less vibes, and pulls sweetly from low revs. I see that the avg. fuel cons is up from say 5.8 L/100km to sat 6.2L/100km.
Seat of pants says it is an improvement, it is still coldish here (<+15C) so early days. I want to see what it does in summer, which is when I cooked the heads (28/7/13).

BTW, the bike was never a rough runner, but I notice it is smoother.

Cyl Head Temperature reading by GS911 in my living room (where bike lives) is +20C while ambient air shows +0C
This is how it tricks the ECU. I will see what it is outdoors next week, I will take the GS911 with me.

A neighbour had the plug on his earlier bike, and both he and the missus thought it made a great improvement.

Interesting that most people state that it smooths out the fuelling etc. which is also what a number of members posting on another thread are stating is the main reason they went for a remap. So a few pence and some work, or a few hundred pounds.

Booster plug on a 12 plate 1200GS

The bike was not bad before, I have done about 500 miles with it fitted mostly on mountain twistys and you can feel the difference in 2nd and 3rd pulling uphill I can clime up holding a higher gear longer and it is smoother, and I can also feel the difference when changing up from 3rd to 4th to 5th to 6th without using the clutch, and in traffic in town in the lower gears, plus next to no popping when slowing down, All in all a good mod. :beerjug:

Interested to hear your views :thumb2

Anyone here using a PC V on a twin cam ? Apart from the extra wires it seems like the best value option given you can get 1/2 your money back when you sell the bike :flag
I have PCV with Autotune and I'm very happy I thing this is the 2nd think I would do after the suspension

Hi Wilsdorf

I had a similar thought to you - does the Accelerator Module (with temp. sensor) / Booster Plug do the majority (all?) of what the remap does i.e. sort out the a/f ratio so that the bike runs more smoothly?

I know that the booster plug or ( variable resistors ) is able to adjust the mixture only at the low rev range ! Where the POWER CMANDER enable you to adjust the fuel across the whole rev range
Its worth to remember that the Lambda sensor (02 sensor) is also responsible for adjust AFR .
And if is still there Booster Plug or other ''Device'' won't do too much to the engine performance.

I seriously doubt it would do anything like a remap - but if the benefits it provides are all you are looking for in a remap, then it sounds like an option. My main criteria for anything like a remap, full exhaust, or a power commander is more power.
