Hi

I have noticed that the boots I wear have worn the grey frame paint off both sides of the GS but especially the left hand side (clutch side).

Apart from the touratech frame guards has anybody got any good suggestion for how to cover these or protect the frame from furhter boot damage please...

Clear self-adhesive vinyl from Wilkinsons, you get it in large rolls about 16 inches wide, one roll will last you and all of your mates for ever, costs a couple of quid.
You can also get it in matt/opaque finish which is perfect for putting on the inside of your clear garage windows to stop prying eyes looking at your bike, but it still lets the light in.

I use it anywhere and everywhere on my bike where things will rub paint, it's invisible when fitted. Comes off okay when you flog the bike too!

Sticky backed plastic!

Aw, bless :comfort

I noticed this before it got too bad and just applied a strip of duct tape either side. Luckily I had some in grey so colour coordination wasn't an issue. :thumb2

:D

I am proud .... proud I tell yer, to be an LC 1200 owner ...

Ohhhhhhh deary deary deary me ....... :D :D

The heel plates on my ubber 1600 GT have worn.

Clearly unfit for purpose and a real disappointment on a premium priced, true flagship model.

It's enough to make a grown man cry. *

* Not the wear, you understand. This thread.

Words well said, respected geezer, but nonetheless perhaps I can offer some kind of `blingy heel guard`?

I have noooo idea if I can - I just like the sound of my own voice..................
