Boots?

I am looking to buy some boots and thought that it was a good time to look at motocross/trials type.

I have read all the other posts about the various boots and have tried the new Alpinestars Tech3 which were comfy but I was in the car so couldn't try them on the bike with my leather jeans on.

I have got a 1200 and ride mainly on the road.
I have a limited budget of around £150.

My main questions are:
1. would I be better with trials boots or motocross?

2. Will I stuggle in these boots? (when the tech 3 was done up it felt like I'd got a plaster cast on)

3. Will my leather jeans fit over the top of them or is this just a case of trying them out?

I know you are going to direct me to lots of threads and thanks in advance but never having this style of boot has left me quite confused as there is a lot of choice.

G'day Looking as well...

Andy I'm looking as well. This is my 2 Bobs worth. For me, I want a boot removable liner, No buckles to fawl on stuff. I go scrubbin. Absolute Solid. I broke one ankle and don't want that again. do true MX boots still have a smooth sole? if so, look at enduro boots with tread

Tech 3's come with smooth or enduro sole... mine have the enduro sole and are great, however.

For road riding I prefer my Altbergs, they are more comfy, water proof (Tech 3's are not) and you can feel the gears in better.

I also used my Altebergs offroad untill I brought my pogo and they are fine for green laning on a GS.

What's your buying criteria? Style or the best boot

My max budget is £150 so the Altbergs are a bit too much.

Not bothered about being fashionable but I must say I like the look of the tech 3's.

The Toureg version hurt my foot but the Tech 3 were comfy.
I know they aren't waterproof and also that Hein Gericke do do a more road orientated boot that is a similar style for around the same price.

Think I'm gonna skive off for a couple of hours this afters and go and try them on with my leathers.
