I'm delighted to hear that Ronno has actually made it home in one piece and without assistance -:D

Not half as delighted as Ronno was! :thumb :D

Good to see you again, Charles :beerjug:

Ooohhhh . . The shame of it.

What I really regret was not going back in and trying it again. I thought it would climb out quite easily but I lost traction and momentum and . . well, these things ain't trials irons !

More speed next time. And a bit more practice in the rough first.

Here are some more photos. I have been trying to get the 1.3Mb images down to the 122Kb limit of the site. Thev previous lot were rubbish, If this works I'll post a load more.

Another vote of thanks. Only a 100 miles for me, around roads only 20 miles from home most of which I'd not been along before. Great Stuff. Good to finally put some faces to 'names'. :thumb

That's more like a job.

Now to swamp the net . .

Have another five (of my 40+)

Good to meet you too Jefformston.

You, of course, could do that run every day on your way to Gogar (or do you take the A1 and the dreaded bypass ?).

Here are another five pics.

Thinks . . Must get Broadband !

I only did 202 miles, taking my total for the year to 14,060.

I put 19 litres in at my usual garage and my favourite Cashier was on duty.

I signed the chit and gave her the card and she said "This card is frozen!".

Fortunately my wallet was on the outside of the thermals.

Have another five pics.

My aim for the year is 15,000 bike miles, so I have to do another 1,000 in the next month or so.

Anyone up for another winter GS run ?

Any other Sections doing anything interesting that we could join in with ?

Here are more pics from Sat.

18th Nov was a year to the day since I bought my GS. Its now got 46,000 on the clock and has had some much needed TLC as it had a very hard previous life. I am the 10th owner.

Poor little thing.

"And there's more where that came from" (The Goon Show - seems appropriate).

Five more pics.

And thats the lot, for some reason one wouldn't load - just too boring I guess.

Hopefully there was something of interest to someone in each. If it was OTT let me know and I'll edit them down next time.

Thanks to everyone who participated and hope to see you on another run soon.

Voyager.

Hey Ronno you been splashing out on a new jacket :thumb not like you to stand out in a crowd :D

Looks like you all had a good day out, some great pics

Great pix but you are all f-ing mad, its one thing going out in this weather but to try a water crossing........ :rob

:thumb :beerjug: :bow

What no-one has said yet is that Forry and Farmer Palmer got across and back with no bother - twice.

Well done the pair.

Hi Floyd. It's an old HG jacket with a new Hi Viz vest on top :thumb

Nope, never the A1 and rarely through the Lamamuirs. Usually its up the A697 & A68 the a round the bypass. Time is the usual enemy & the need to be home at a reasonable hour most evenings.

Yes to that, I'm sorry I missed it, it looks like people had a great time. I had a fine time in Szczecin but on balance I think a day out with a bunch of tossers might have been more fun.

Another vote of thanks here! A thoroughly enjoyable day. Even got good food at the Cedar, I had been worrying that we may end up back at McD's, bleugh!!!! Chicken stuffed with haggis, oh yes please.

Clocked 297 miles for the day.

Apologies to Voyager for taking off in despatch rider mode up the A1. I had intended to drop off the main road when I saw signs for Kirkliston but as I never saw one you just disappeared somewhere around SW E'burgh.

I realised why Ronno overtook.................he want'd te rest of us behind him in the event of an "event". Glad you got back without one!

Seriously glad I didn't have the courage to try the ford of doom, all power to Voyager for a good attempt.

Thanks again to everyone for a great day.

Don't worry about Dispatch Rider Mode . . I wasn't in the mood - particularly as we were approaching a Dual Carriageway.

I was behind you most of the way, along the bypass and through Hermiston Gait. I turned off the M8 onto the M9 link, then exited at the Newbridge roundabout - home is just around the corner. Dunard was between us and gave me a wave as I turned off.

It looks as though there is some interest building for another run - how are you fixed in the coming weeks ?

I have an urge to try some of the little 'white' roads in the Kintyre peninsular. That requires an early start though (no problem for me, I am often on the road at 03:00 - heading to events in the warm South).

Any better suggestions ?

Voyager.
:mmmm

Cheers for the pics Mr V.

Good to see everyone happy and relaxed, what a fine way to chill oot, did I say CHILL, efter a nightshift.

Thanks for fine day oot. :thumb :thumb
