hello everybody!
OK. I got the bike in pieces and put it all together again. It worked well after sitting in the shed for few years in bits. After few minutes it was obvious that the clutch is done and needs replacing. so far so good. Me and a friend from whom I have the GS managed to replace the clutch. It took us a while but...
On the way back home from his home in Aberdeenshire the bike started to behave strange. It was not reacting to throttle. Going 80 mph and accelerating did nothing. It almost felt like clutch was slipping again. It was like this untill I got to a full stop. then the bike died. I managed to start it again ang got back to edinburgh struggling everytime bike got to a full stop. I had to rev it a bit in order to keep engine running.
Bike since then behaves odd. starts and then dies, cutts off, backfires etc. There is also this strange compressed air sound from the cylinders, I think.
this is a short movie clip I made so you hopefuly can hear what's happening

Some suggested the Hall sensor so I replaced it. 90 Quid later still no change.
My friend and fellow UKGSER brought over his igniotion coil and leads so we could try if this helps. We put his ignition coil on and the bike was cured! It ran OK, no backfires, no chocking, nothing, just a nice regular GS engine noise. So we decided to get a new coil when I get back from holidays. When I swap the coil for the new one the bike was still shite. Now it also seems that it's working on one cylinder. I tried to test ride it but it was unpleasant, very jerky and finally it died. Is the coil faulty? (SH from
motorworks).
any suggestions as the season is approaching fast and it would be lovely to start riding.
