The only size they had in was a 60/61 and the fit feels lovely. Though Im concerned it may 'bed in' and become too large. Thing is my old system 4 is size 58/59 and fits a treat. My system 5 (which Ive just sold) was tight & uncomfortable was also a 58/59.

Draping a tape measure strategically across my nog comes up with a reading of 58.5.

So Im now wondering if I got the right size :nenau

BTW, paid £325 but they may be going up to £355.

What are your initial thoughts?

I had my Schuberth S1 stolen this week, and so need a new helmet, and am tending towards getting the System 6 (but also considering a Schuberth S1 Pro). Is it quiet (and what was your last helmet that you are comparing it to), and are there any niggles yet?

After the discomfort of my last two helmets (an AGV that had a revised lining form the one I'd tried on, and which hurt my ears, and the Schuberth, which never loosened up as much as I'd hoped), I really want one that comes as close as possible to just being something that I don't notice once it's on. The System 6 felt like the most comfortable I've ever tried when I put it on in the shop, but on the way there and back (in my super comfortable but too old to rely on previous AGV) I was reminded of how much I hate niggles such as a truculent visor, misting, or noise in even the best fitting one.

Howdy Northern Boy,

Since I bought it I have literally been round the block on the bike, so I cant comment on the effectiveness of the pin lock. I cant give any indication to how the sun visor helps either cos it wasnt sunny, but Ive never had a lid with a built in sun visor before, so the novelty of sliding a button and it popping down is just great.

2 things that did strike me on my very short blast was how much quieter the lid was than the Sys 4 & 5 that Ive previoulsy had. The other thing was how effective the venting is. Opening the top vent lets in 2 valleys of cool air across the top of your head. Not what you want at this time of year but I know itll be ace in the summer (if we get one). The chin vent seems to work (and be easier to open / close with gloves on) much better than the previous models too.

As per my above post, my head measures up to a 58/59, but the system 5 really hurt my forehead. I think its the shape of my bonce. My system 6 is 60/61 and just feels 'right'. I dont know Im wearing it. Nice meaty cheek pads too.

Yep Im chuffed.

Oh, my dealer says the new stock he's got in has gone up £50 to £375, so maybe I timed it right.

Thanks.

Yes, they are £375 now, with my local dealer only offering me £25 off for a plain one (which I could swear is all that the plain ones are listed at in other places), so £350 seems a bit steep, especially as I can get another Schuberth S1 (not the newer pro) in the colour I want for £199.

I'd love to hear how you get on with it as you rack up the miles, as my last helmet went from seeming perfect when I bought it (a bit too snug, just like I always buy them) to a bit of a pain later (hardly loosened up at all, and was pretty unpleasant after I fitted the Autocom headset). The System 6 felt really good in the shop, just right for my head shape, but it's always hard to tell what it will be like six months and a good few thousand miles later.

System 6 helmet

Before you part with your money, take a look at the helmet from the back, over the shoulder so to speak.
Look between the helmet body and were the visor pivots with light in the background, all the ones I've seen have a noticable gap straight into the helmet and the chin section doesnot fit flush with the helmet when closed.
When you have done that go straight to the nearest HG store and look at the Schuberth C3, I bet you seen the Sch is in a different class and worth it in comparison.

Dealership reaction seems... buyer beware.

System 6

I looked at system 6 and did not like what i saw. Quality did not look as good as the S1 Pro I have or my old system 5. In fact I just bought a brand new 5 for £135. No its not as well vented nor is visor as good at staying mist free but the 6 just did not look as robust as either. may be the C3 is the compromise lid.
Oh I bought a BMW bluetooth kit for the 5 and so far really rate it much more than the autocom set up I had before.
Not cheap though

yep I went through the whole S6 v's Schuberth S1 Pro a couple of months ago and ended up getting the S1 Pro Furious because it was only £250 new in is box frm someone on Fleabay normal shop price was around £450 !!

The BMW S6 was a very helmet but somehow did'nt have the "quality feel" that the Schuberth had, which kinda confused me. The S6 is nice and light i'll give it that and it was a close call only persuaded by the price and colour scheme's as BMW's did seem ever so bland.

The S1 Pro is without a doubt the quietest helmey i have ever owned and is very comfortable, moreso that my old Arai Viper Gt that got binned.

I'am not too sure but i believe the new Scuberth bluetooth collar fits into the S1 Pro so providing an intergrated BT system, whereas i had to stick the Cardo Scala unit to the side of the collar of the S1 Pro.

Hope this helps.

Do you think the s1 pro is quieter than the other Schuberths then? HOw is the peripheral vision compared to a C3 or System 6?
