boxer engine mega miles?

Any imput on this would be helpfull. A boxer engine in a RT thats done 150k. Is it finished or is the some life left in the old dog?
Thinking of making an offer but note sure whether its worth it or not?

The engine is still good for a RTW, but change the valves first !

Depends where/how the mileage has been racked up - if it's cheap enough buy it and put a second hand engine in it --

Are you able to test ride it??

The normal things like rattling, smoking etc etc could tell you a fair amount......a decent service history won't tell you about the engine but will tell you about how conscientious the previous owner/s were too.

Otherwise, the worst case scenario is 400 quid plus install labour from Steptoe...but so many people are scared witless about high mileage tha it could well be a really good buy.
