I want to fit braided hoses to my 1150 (02). Anyone aware of killer deals for a set of hoses? and i suppose more importantly, are they ok to fit on a non abs, non servo GS? Ta!

braided hose pipes

I just bought a set from moto bins ltd. 01775 680881 for my 2001 gs1150 non abs. It was a total of £77.66. including new banjo bolts and washers. There was a part in it i didnt need thats for the abs version. I returned this and got a £17.00 refund. :thumb if you want i can give you the part numbers.
Cheers

Theres no reaon on earth why they Cant be fitted to your or virtually any bike.

you have 4 choices - 'unbranded'or GOODRIDGE or HEL or get them made up by someone with a bit of know how... there have been posts on here in the past by people who have done it themselves and saved a packet in the process.

I went for Goodridge and paid the extra for stainless steel fittings.. price was just about the same as the HEL alternatives.

Can't say I've noticed any improvement in the brakes.. GS brakes are hardly needle sharp anyway. I only did it cause i read some horror stories about the upper line failing on SOME 11xx's

This is probably the wrong time of year to be expecting great deals on Braided hoses from the manufacturers.. they're selling enough of em at full price.. wait till the winter for good deals.

or find someone who will make a set up for you.

Quarryman, try giving this guy a call, he is located in Hale, near Speke airport.
Very cheap and does a great job.
Can't remember his name, I think it's Alan.
His number is 07742058438.
He can supply cadnium coated or stainless steel.

Timpo.

O great thought you would ask for those numbers.

22190s brk hose 1150gs as 22190 ss
22191s brk hose lhs lower r1150gs ss
22193s hose h/bar abs r1150gs ss (think this was the part i returned)

Quarryman.,

I'd be interested to know how you get on price wise becuase I was considering doing the same for my 02 1150 (ABS, non servo) :thumb2

HEL - All the fittings are stainless, including the pipe ends/banjos and the banjo bolts.

Timpo - I'll give your man in Hale a ring next week some time (away this weekend).
Steptoe, don't suppose you still have access to your supplier by any chance?

Oooh - 100 posts :)

If you go for the HEL lines, they may ask you to send the old ones to them to act as patterns.BWM apparently fitted a variety of brake lines early on.

have been on the hel site. what is the harrison spec?? anyone got any ideas? ordered a set of non abs lines front and rear anyway, we shall see what appears .....

Thats me = neil harrison... As i said, i sent them all the different lines so they could copy them.
There are two types of lines for the 99 bike. So i sent them one of the rare types and said mark it with my name, so when i need to order one of those they'l know what i mean.

But i stopped selling brake lines. :D

Yes Neil, Start doing them again please!
Much less hassle explaining to sales people that know fcuk all about bikes let alone BMW's!
Get them in and post a price.
