Hi all,
just wondering if anyone knows where I can get replacement braided brake hoses for my non ABS R1150GS Adventure?

Seem to be plenty available for the standard R1150GS, but can't find anything for the Adv.

Have checked Motobins and Motorworks websites, but just show standard GS.

Thanks

HEL & Goodridge don't appear to show anything other than standard GS.

Not sure as to whether the lower brake hoses are the same length GS & GSA

Looking at the parts fiche http://www.rainbowbmw.com/BMWETK/ the front lower pipes seem to be different, i.e. the standard GS has a different fork brace cross piece to the GSA whilst the rear pipe is 5mm shorter on the GSA (shouldn't make much difference?). You could get some custom pipes made up from here- https://furoreproducts.co.uk/custom-brake-hose

Ah good post that (they didn't turn up on a google search) and someone else has messaged me to say HEL may well make hoses to order to.

I'm thinking the handlebar to frame bleed point is pretty straight forward, it's the bleed point to manifold on right fork leg leading onto calipers that might be the difficult bit. But have sent a message to HEL see if they reply.

Have spoken to HEL down in Exeter and they say they will make up a matching set if I send down my actual brake pipes. Only reason for wanting actual pipes to copy is they have run into so many issues with R1100/1150's over the years.

No big deal to whip them off and send down as want to fully service the calipers anyway.

£29.99 per flexible length

I had hel make up twin lines for my Trophy 12 rather than three piece as standard.

Didn't cost any more than the 'standard' ones, found hel very helpful.

Stu,
It might be an idea to get an extended top hose, too. This would give more flexibility for fitting handle bar risers.

I used to stock HEL brake lines, they even used to have a set of lines called "Neil harrison bmw" fitting :D

The trouble with the ADV model is they can have two different calipers fitted, not just the simple choice between brembo or BMW caliper but the BMW and Tokica BMW calipers. the banjo angles are different and slight length difference.
And then you get the ABS non ABS variation and it was a nightmare keeping everything in stock for all the different models and variations.

You'll need to explain in great detail to HEL which top hose you mean... They used to be in the habit of extending the hose under the top hose :D

Def seems the best option to send to HEL given some of the variety of options a Steptoe describes. Although it will mean a little downtime with the bije, fingers crossed the better option in the end.

Plus clear labelling of the various hoses up top

Stu.... try wemoto online. Any size made up hel or a cheaper budget make. The only difference i can see between them is the box

Thanks Mike, a full calliper rebuild did the trick. So never needed to replace the hoses. All good to know for future needs though, ta
