brake cylinder problem

I needed some info the brake cylinder on my r100/7 1978 has a small notch in it will it work OK or will the piston leak it will be fitted with a new piston and seals all help needed

It will leak past the notch - especially under heavy breaking.

Without seeing it nobody can say it is OK.

Davedyer is right ....buy replacement parts from the Moto**** or Sherlock guys..obviously never take chances with brakes !

Are you referring to to the under the tank master cylinder? If so, I have a refurbished (new piston and seals) master cylinder for sale taken off 1978 R100S.

the cylinder has a bit chip on the in side at the bottom were the piston goes my be able to use very fine emary paper to remove it Sean
