Brake failure light

Not really. The brake and/or tail light has been known to cause ABS issues.
Clean all contacts and connectors to see if it helps

When the tail light filament blows, Canbus runs the brake light filament on low power. It does raise the question as to why they didn't use a single filament from the start.

Later bike have LED tail light.

It has to do with the way products are engineered.

Ahhh. Not sure how that can be the case, but wasn't aware of it. Surely it would light the lamp failure bulb as well?

It sure does but canbus is supposed to be about more function with less hardware. Taking away one filament is less hardware. And running it at low power will increase the service life.
In the end they used LEDs which are probably driven exactly like that low power for tail brightness and high power for stop lamp brightness.

Really?

Yes, seriously. Mine came on in the middle of a long run. Googled the problem and found references to low battery voltage as a possible cause. I had a feeling the battery (5 1/2 years old) wasn't in the best condition and could do with replacing anyway (sluggish starting) so thought I had little to lose by putting a new one in. Light went off immediately on pulling away and stayed off; never had a problem again.

They're not. There's an extra bunch of LEDs which light up when the brake is applied.

Update on my abs light failure, managed to get hold of a second hand speed/abs sensor which I have now fitted and all is now well, so many thanks for all the replies , suggestion and advice
