My ride is a 2005 BMW R1200RT (with a Servo) and would like to renew/flush all the brake fluid. I carried out all other service items last year with no problem so just need to tackle this one if possible. Can this be carried out by a home mechanic/me? If so can anyone advise how and any if special tools are required. Many Thanks, Roy

Yep,
I found it pretty easy once you understand the plumbing and what is going on.
A few you tube videos around to get you started, here is one I found helpfull.

You need to make a reservoir funnel for the servo unit to keep the level of fluid up higher than the filler hole of the box.
I made one from a rubber door stop and a plastic bottle with a pointed spout. You can see mine in this thread.

As you see from the thread, I goofed mine to start with because I didn't understand what was happening when you apply the brake. I tried to bleed like a normal bike and put a bottle at the caliper and squeezed the lever...WRONG! All I was doing was emptying the servo box.
The brake lever sends fluid pressure to the servo, so you need to bleed there first. Then you fit your funnel thingy and bleed the caliper.
Repeat for the rear.

Thanks for the information Miggs. Its all starting to make sense now I'v seen the videos. Will start to strip down RT and start looking for tubing, plastic bottle and rubber door stop.
