I noticed this whilst away for the week on holiday, this happened on my last bike that I changed and the entire unit had to be sent to Germany.

Anyway, keep an eye on it - I cant be the only unlucky person to have this happen on 2 bikes! Off to the dealers again for a new seal and a coffee me thinks.

Yeah, just frustrating though mate...

I know, fella.................I bet there's a casting fault, may go again

Shouldn't happen, should it :blast

Warranty claims - All that palaver to go to the dealer to let them check it, go home whilst they order parts and go back to get them fitted

A right ball ache, let me tell you

Still, when it's working it's an awesome bike:thumby:

Level is fine. I'm not overly worried.
Ive had this happen before on an R1100s boxercup and a fazer 600...

It happened on my 1600 and a bunch of others. I just left it and had it replaced under warranty at the next service.

Time spent and inconvenience? Zero.

Yes I considered that Wapping, but my service was only done last month!

Bugger.

On the plus side, I will get a loan bike to .....test....

Same here!

I did tight the screws up last weekend.... see how it goes.

Worst case scenario, 6k service is getting closer, so I will have a word with them...

Noticed the same on mine last week, just before setting off for 1500 miles round Scotland.. Forgot about it till now!

Mine did it, changed under warranty along with the clutch line.

Still a half decent bike though......

needs pretty tight screws to prevent seepage

worth torquing them down to see what happens

good luck

.

I don't think that there are torque settings for the four screws. Perhaps on account of them being self tapping screws driven into the plastic fluid containers below.

Mine weep'ed as well until I tightened up the screws.

It also helps to check the fluid level in the container to make sure it isn't overfilled.

hope this helps.

My master cylinders are made with cast alloy and use machine screws to affix the cylinder tops.no plastic in sight or self tappers...?

I have tightened the screws fully now on both the clutch and brake lids....Both actually allowed more tightening than I liked, so I don't think they were actually on that well!

I'll see how I go now, I have fully cleaned up the surrounds and hope that will do the trick.

Happening to mine it is quite a common problem with other bike manufacturers who use the same fluid reservoir. Also noticed corrosion on swing arm when taking off rear mud guard to clean around mounting bolts.
