Just back in from helping a mate collect a 2008 800 - the only problem we found was the brakelight seems to be stuck permanently on. Anyone experienced this before or have a solution pse?

Check brake lever not fouling hand guard. 
sounds too simple, and may be different on yer new fangled 800 
, but when I had this problem on my 1100, after buggering about with the front brake micro switchy thing for an age (can't remember why now 
), it was the bulb that was faulty . Replaced bulb, problem solved.

Recently had this on an 1150 and found it to be the front brake lever micro switch that had worn out. 20p switch from RS components becomes £31 when BMW add there value to it

Check the switch on the rear (foot) break - this is easy to adjust and the most likely candidate.
Thanks chaps - came down to a really poor quality micro-switch on the rear brake pedal assembly- £33 new or £17 used @ Motorworks.
