Brake Light stuck on...

If the person who removed your servo carried out the wiring mod the same as in the link, then there is a small blue relay together with some wiring links. These are probably under the tank where the servo used to reside.

The blue relay is of the type that with no power applied the contacts are closed. When you apply power to the bike, then because of the wiring mod this relay should open breaking the power circuit to the brake light. When you operate the brake switches, you remove power to the relay control. The relay closes and power applied to the brake light.

Find the relay and check that the wiring mod conforms to the servo remod.

Put your finger on the relay and operate the brake switches. You should feel the relay operating.

Check the tail light filaments. I had a twin filament bulb, where the brake light filament when hot sagged and made contact with the tail light. Everything sorted it's self out once cold, until the brake light was used again.

I've knocked up a little sketch in diagram form to show you what the servo demod wiring should conform too. some times a picture paints a thousand words.

Not my finest work, but it should help.

Excellent – thanks for the info and diagram Ian:thumb Sadly I’m not home until the weekend so Rd III of troubleshooting is going to have to wait – I’ll let you know how I get on.

I got your PM, and tried replying, but your mail box is full to overflowing.

Don't know where my reply went. Probably lost.

Oh Hum:confused:

If only people realised there is a far simpler method of removing the servo that requires not one single electrical wire to be cut at all. :blast

And which also allows you to replace the servo if you so wish at some point in the future.

Your option of removing the servo computer from the servo and leaving it attached to the connector would be my preferred option as well.:thumb2

The trouble with a modified bike that someone else has modded is you don't know what route has been taken, your option, the blue relay mod or replacing the brake switches.

If sure DrAlf will find out soon:thumb2

Finally fixed:) Issue traced to a failed front brake switch combined with some dodgy rear light connections. MOTed and back on the road. Thanks to all who helped;)
