brake line recall

now can somebody pls tell me is the replacement of the brake lines a offical bmw recall or not

Dunno about Eire, but many in the UK (including me) got a recall letter from BMW. I got mine done 6 months ago at the 12000 mile service.

It's offically on the VOSA website - does Eire have something similar???

no we dont have the vosa here yet but believe they are on there way
was told about recall by charles hurst in belfast
have received no correspondents from bmw ireland as of yet regarding same

If your dealer knows about it, they can arrange for the work but until then, I shouldn`t worry about it until you get a letter.

I never received a recall letter from BMW. However when I took my 1200 in for its 6K mile service last June the dealer asked for my chassis number and said that I was due a brake pipe change. At the same time I got information that I was due a ring antenne replacement and an ignition "map" upgrade. It appears that BMW dealt with these matters through service rather than a recall letter.

Don't feel bad, I'm in the U.S. and my letter came the day after Christmas.

My brake pipes were done when my antenna ring failed....two birds one stone.
