I seem to have lost one of mine somewhere and the dealer can only get it as part of a kit ( £14.83 +vat )

Go to a proper engineer merchants and ask for an R pin. Take the brake retaining pin with you for size. Probably give you a couple for 50p in the charity pot. Any old motorcycle shop will do them as well probably a £1 a go though. I've just typed in 'R pin' in Ebay and theres boxes of hundreds in various sizes for under a £5er Roger.

It's much like saying you can't put an 'R' pin in the back brake because the BMW one has a bent end !!! It will grip the groove in the securing pin equally as well as the BMW part.... Roger.
