Brand new Moto Guzzi v100s corrosion

I feel your pain regarding this issue …. Shocking is the only word that comes to mind.
Whatever happened to the bike you will probably never find out but if it was mine there would be only one outcome … rejection of that one and a brand new bike plus some sweeteners
Their md may well have read the riot act to the workshop staff alternatively he may well know all about the whole situation but I cannot for the life of me think why anyone would try and pass that off as a new bike and if that was the case then they deserve to lose customers and shut .
Good luck with whatever you decide/ they offer.

Well they came as arranged, it was the sales guy whom dealt with the purchase, he was a bit quite, probably a bit embarrassed, I kept the talk friendly and not about the bike so he probably felt at ease a bit, the Guzzi panniers also went back because they are keyed to the bike so no good to me, I took a copy of the v5 that arrived today and photos of the vin and engine numbers.

Would I have another v100s I think I would need to see the bike and fully inspect before I decided.

Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

No, I’ve had to email them to ask when there collecting, due @ 3pm

Tbh if it was my Business I would have been @ the customers for 9am and not at the end of the working day, I presume it ain’t going to resolved today so maybe tomorrow !! tho I’m not to bothered and not letting it stress me, I’ve got more on my mind, this time of yr ain’t great for me due to the passing on my mother 9th Dec 3 wks after my father, it will be 2 years but it don’t get easier.

I will update this thread as of when I hear back.

Agree with you entirely
As I said - face up and sort it asap
We all make mistakes & the difference is how YOU sort them
I suppose I had a difficult early career as a feed rep/nutritionist
When the mill has made a cock up and delivered a 20t load of dusty feed or got a load pig feed mixed up with cattle feed
You have to move fast - in minutes and not hours and get out to a farm fast (sometimes with a shovel) at night or day, to sort it or you may have a load of dead animals at worst or a significant drop in productivity giving rise to claims of 10’s of £1000’s.
So you have get a recovery wagon in, new feed delivered within hours and then calculate the compensation
So, I am used to moving fast to sort out mistakes and expect the same from firms I deal with
Machinery and vehicle dealerships are some of the worst I have ever encountered (however there are one or two good ones still)

Good they have collected the bike, hope they don't delay refunding the money.
When I returned a brand new car to a BMW dealer, they promised a refund in 24 hours, a week later I was still waiting, then they paid two smaller installments a week apart and said the rest would arrive in a few days. Advised them that interest and a hefty admin fee would be added thereafter, but when the total they owed was escalating they paid quickly.

After having too many issues to list with a new Harley XL1200C a few years back, the straw rthat broke the camel's back for me was having picked it up after having panniers fitted, I found they'd cross threaded ALL of the panier retaining bolts and I couldn't remove them to clean the bike after a wet and muddy ride home. I picked up the phone and told them I'd had enough and called several times more that day after them promising to pick the bike up with nothing happening. I rode back to the dealers next day and didn't leave until they'd refunded me. Walked up the road and bought a used GSA to replace it with which I collected a few days later. Strike whilst the iron's hot.

Things go wrong, I think we all understand that, frustrating as it is, it's how it's dealt with that informs our opinion of the vendor. On the face of it none of this appears to reflect very well on the dealer and seems to be a bit of a P.R. disaster.
Best of luck in getting it sorted.

You would have thought they would have called today just out of curtsy, a phone call would have done a lot to build bridges instead fook all.
They really do appear to be a shower of shit. If you still wanted to go the Guzzi route, I can whole heartedly recommend A&D Motorcycles in Denbigh.

What’s the latest ?
Full Refund in your account ?
New bike, direct from Piaggio UK?
Bunch of flowers for Mrs DD and a fines bottle of single malt for your good self ?

Not even a dickie bird.

Im going to sit it out and wait till they call to see how long it takes them, if no call by Friday I’ll go straight to MG because they really should not be selling there bikes if this is how they treat customers, very bad business.

I’m owed
£14700 bike
£850 panniers

I'd go straight to MG now and report that you've heard nothing and want a response. Why should you be made to wait? Wait for what? Even if the answer is "we're really flat out just now, but will get back to you by xxxx" at least you can hold them to that deadline. Been there before and learned you need to keep the pressure on until someone actually actions something.

I’d not want someone keeping hold of my £15.5k for a week without a bloody good reason.

There going to make you wait before trying all methods to get you to take the bike back ...

If you had put even £1 on a credit card, you could get the CC company involved and they wont want to be liable for the whole debt !

Surely it's in the interests of the dealership to put this behind them and sort it ASAP.
Instead they're letting it fester like a bad smell.
