break light permanently onb

just put a new bulb into brake light and have now discovered that it's on permanently - both via front and rear brake. Any ideas why ?

How do you know that both brake switches are operating, have you unplugged each switch in turn to check -

... in the end it turned out to be the bulb, which somehow worked itself into a position, where both 'threads' (?) got permanent power from the light switch. All working now. Thanks for the advice.
