Just been looking at some breakdown / recovery in the UK & Europe

BMW offer recovery to the dealer in UK & Europe as a package - price unknown as yet, but a 12 month deal

The other is National breakdown, UK & europe cover £54 single trip

never heard of them before anyone used / heard horror stories ?

Nationwide bank have euro breakdown cover on their plus account.

Comes with travel and phone ins etc.

Cover level decent. Wintsr sports included.

Changing over is seamless.

I think its 12 quid a month so 150 ish for a annual travel and breakdown.

Worth a look Id say..

you can get an annual policy from LV Britannia for that price, as long as the vehicle is under 16 years. Add UK personal cover for another £13

you need to buy via a comparison site. I used Moneysupermarket. Ask for a quote, include Home start. Scroll down past the very cheap cover to LV. Click through to LV. Base policy about £54 and add any options you want like personal cover in UK.

LV come near top in a lot of surveys, up there with Green Flag.

Weirdly, go direct to LV and the policy will cost 3 times as much, without any big difference in cover.

I'm with Green Flag, last year was £187 for 2 bikes, both covered UK and the 1250 covered for EU as well, the car and caravan are also covered in uk, just been chatting to them today as it's coming up for renewal, don't have a price yet but girl said ring them on renewal, might be some wiggle room, the cover euro is very good check out their website for everything that's covered, although I haven't had to use them, I checked out reviews last year and all seemed positive, most likely I will renew with them again in June this year.
I don't know what a single bike would be, cheaper I expect, best ring for a quote

green flag, £51 for my upcoming trip

Has anyone tried this company before and have any experience, they claim to offer same levels of cover at 50% saving

Thanks

Simon

Had occasion to call out Green Flag last week .
The people they sent out were FIRST CLASS !
imho they went above and beyond what could have reasonably been expected !

Bear in mind if it is the BMW Insured Used warranty that yes the cover is good BUT all repairs have to paid for by you and then claimed back in the UK via a BMW dealership

see my post here in the other thread you moaned in

Green Flag is the sweet spot now on comparison sites, or was last month when I checked out prices for an annual policy. I renewed with LV though as personal cover in the UK and single vehicle cover in Europe for £62 is unbeatable. Not for new customers though.

I Bank with Barclays and through the app i got worldwide travel insurance, which comes with Europe wide breakdown for £114 for the year.
that's for me and the wife.

the weird thing with the LV policy I bought is that the comparison site had an age limit. When I read the actual LV policy documents, they don't mention age of the vehicle. I'm 8 years away from the 16 year limit so some time before I need to make enquiries. More likely I change the bike before then...

I think that's why i didnt get the LV policy showing, due to the age of the bike

I compared the Nationwide (AA) policy to the Euro brakedown policy

Cost wise about £10 overall -

all have exclusions, in the small print,

AA will cover labour up to £500, the Euro policy wants a futher £50 for that to be added

end of the day, as long as i can

Either get the bike to a garage / or home thats all that matters

For comparison, a lot of the UK breakdown policys havea 10 - 16 year exclusion window

I’m using this as my euro breakdown cover when I go to Sid’s next month. My GS turned 24yrs old this year so there’s very little choice available. I do have a back up, though, since Carole Nash included it in my bike insurance too. The bike had to be eligible for that to be possible under the insurance regulations they have to work to.

Well hopefully you won't need it!!
