Breva 1100

drill the drains out to 4mm.

what makes you think d/shaft has been changed ? i've never heard of 1 failing.

whilst you are there , copaslip the 3 bolts on the slave .

I used a 3mm drill but I’ll go back and do them 4mm as suggested

Driveshaft had yellow paint marker code written on it as if it had came from a bike dismantlers (unless they are marked like that from the factory ?)

Thanks for the tip on the slave bolts , I’ll make sure I do it ;-)

I love a bike like this. Something that is fundamentally good, just needs some TLC. It's most probably because that's about the limit of my skills.

Anyone help identify what these inner bags are for , I'd hoped they would fit the Breva but they are too wide :-(

not for a Cali Vin , wrong shape
not for an MGX , too wide
not for a Cali 14 , they are 3 section.
are they stiff ? , jump up and down on them , that'll make 'em flexible ! ( or ruin them :ROFLMAO: )
cheap a/market ? if the nearest one is a lhs bag , the Eagle is facing the wrong way !

Not sure if they are genuine or not , they are very well made and semirigid ( I’m sure if I jumped up and down on them they would be flexible but somewhat ruined lol) . No idea if the nearest is a left or right , I assume the badge would face outwards so probably a left so I’ve got a disoriented eagle ;-(

Paintwork is in remarkably good condition for a 20 year old bike

Time to start cleaning components and bolt things back on.......

ummmm , a bit late , did you check that the oil seals , the small ones, that the s/arm spindle goes through , inboard of the bearings ,were in the correct way round ?
they seem to come from the factory inserted incorrectly.

Yes , both seals (Item 8 in diagram ) were in correctly

I only checked them as on the 1200 Sport I had they were completely missing when I got the bike

That is fantastic work as usual, John.

Once on the road, I would be interested to know how well the fly screen works. That’s a standard 1200 sport bikini fairing, but the white part is an aftermarket item, slightly higher than standard, which I have been contemplating buying. Any real world reviews would be greatly appreciated!

Well it appears that after all the work I’ve done sorting this bike it may be even by my standards a short ownership

I had only bought it and prepped it ready for my son to use on an upcoming trip which he has just had to drop out of :-(

So as soon as I finish it (likely this coming weekend) I will be offering it up for sale so anyone interested get in quick to secure it before I ride it and decide to add it to my bike collection ;-)
