Breva 1100

Well it appears that after all the work I’ve done sorting this bike it may be even by my standards a short ownership

I had only bought it and prepped it ready for my son to use on an upcoming trip which he has just had to drop out of :-(

So as soon as I finish it (likely this coming weekend) I will be offering it up for sale so anyone interested get in quick to secure it before I ride it and decide to add it to my bike collection ;-)

Well I'd buy the screen....

Sorry your plans have gone awry, that sounded like it was going to be a good trip.

New tyres fitted and brakes bled . Took the bike out for a 30 mile shake down run and have 1 issue to sort

With the engine running and the clutch pulled in there is a squealing sound . Checking in with our resident “theoneandonly” points towards the clutch thrust bearing so it’s a bit of strip down this weekend to diagnose and then hopefully sort

Other than that the bike runs great with no other issues

Wow, wow, wow that is beyond stunning. And that’s what, 20 years old??

A pain to have to strip it back again, but whatever Baldrick suggests the clutch issue might be, he’ll be right.

That looks lovely, I've always had a soft spot for the Breva.

I’ve done about 300 miles on this now and it runs great , my son is going to use it for a short trip up to Scotland over the Easter weekend and then I’ll fit the new thrust bearing next week . Once sorted I’m going to offer it up for sale at £3K as I’ve just bought another Airhead project bike

Beautiful job - if I was in the market for another bike....... Good luck with the sale (and the thrust bearing replacement :))

Second hand centre stand fitted and started to remove parts ready to do the clutch pushrod bearing

Only spent an hour on it today as priority was getting the engine out of my R65LS

New clutch thrust bearing fitted and the bike now just has the “characteristic” Guzzi twin plate “rattle” when the clutch lever is pulled in

Many thanks again to forum member ‘theoneandonly’ for all of his help in answering my questions and giving advice on Guzzi matters

Bike will get a good clean and final check over and will be up for sale later this week
