I'm needing some new treads for my 1150 and after reading Fanum's tyre review thread I'm thinking along the lines of either Bridgestone BT020's or Dunlop D607's. Has anyone tried both?

What's the stickiest, what gives better mileage? Am I just as well to stick with Tourances? I get 10,000miles out of my tourances but I'm willing to lose some miles for a bit more grip on wet winter roads.

I have run Bridgestones and they were crap in the wet.
I now run Tourances and still cannot find fault with them.
The only other tyres I would trust would be Anakees, however, I do lots of motorway riding so they are too soft and would square too quickly.

I ran BT020's on my old R1100RS and they were brilliant. Good in the dry, excellent in the wet and a good 10k out of a set. Don't know how they compare on a GS though - :nenau

Whenever there's a thread on tyres you get as many different experiences as there are people posting, it seems :)

Here's my 2p worth:

BT020 - use these on my Fazer and am well happy with them. Good life and excellent handling, wet or dry. Never used them on the GS yet though.

D607 - my GS came with these. Feel less planted than the 020s (but on a different bike so this is probably not a valid comparison). The rear is pretty much dead after 4000 miles, but I will probably fit another of the same this time so it's matched with the (far less worn) front.

I run 020s on my 1150, have done for years......thery're fine in all circs.

The edges on the rear get a wee bit 'fluffy' at times if pushing on, but this just shows that they are nice and sticky.... ;)

As said earlier, you're going to get all sorts of varying views...

Alot of the differences are more to do with what goes on between the Ears of the Rider..IMHO
