Can anyone help????
Looking for a reasonable campsite in the middle of Brittany and one nearer to Roscoff, have any of you travellers got any recommendations.

This is my first time abroad with the GS so any helpful information would be appreciated.....

Campsites

Steve

IMHO you won't do better than the "Camping Bas du Lande" at Josselin. It's a quiet municipal site with top quality facilities for about five Euro a night. The walk into town for vin, pain et fromage along the canal is fantastic. There are several bars in town where they understand my French and a cheap supermarche. Been to this site three times and loved it.

There's also a municipal site at Roscoff about ten minutes ride from the ferry set in the sand dunes but with fairly basic facilities. The guy in charge there let me camp in the infield for three Euro as all the marked pitches were taken.

If you're interested, PM me with your 'phone number and I'll give you a bell with more details.

Bon voyage.

campsites

Steve, I've done 4 trips around France on my bike now and have never gone with a destination in mind(when camping). I suggest you plan the general area that you want to get to and play it by ear, there are so many campsites about, if you go into one and don't like the look of it go to the next one. If you want to stay in one place for a week I recommend going the the Britanny Ferries website and taking a look at their country homes to rent.....I have used them twice and got lovely 2 bedroom places for about £150 a week. No need to carry a tent either. Either way after enough good wine , who cares where you sleep.

enjoy
