Broken Filler cap 1150 GS

Has anyone had the main hinge on the filler cap break on them ? I went to fill up today & the cap came off in my hand. Looks quite substantial, cant work out what would have caused the metal to fatigue & break like that.
Does anyone have one for sale? Thought Id ask before looking at buying a brand new one.

mine broke and i had it replaced under warranty

(didnt mention that i had a baglux cover on and it put a strain on the hinge ) but its a pain if it breaks eh?

dont forget to say it came off in yer hand ,when going to fill up (must be a weak casting)

Yep - although, like Slimbo, I think my tank bag 'bra' not always being correctly aligned probably didn't help. bought a second hand one from Motorworks (it was the Saturday - my bike was being crated for transit on the Monday ).

Spoke to Park Lane today, Glen one of the technicians says he will get it sorted. Result.

When you get it replaced turn it round 180 degress so it opens forward instead of rearwards makes things much easier when you have a tankbag on.
