Evenin all.

I started cleaning the bike down on Friday morning and when I got to the screen, it started wobbling - I then saw that one of the upper pins that hold the bracket to the screen was missing. Obviously having come off the bike on the way home at 2am on the bloody A38 somewhere no doubt ...

So, yet another phone call / trip to a BMW dealer I had not planned on...Anyone else had any issues with the screen and support pins failing etc?

On another note, the bike has come up really well after having not cleaned it properly for a while, only small rusty bits on the front and rear discs. Its been used constantly in the bad weather and freezing conditions, and my last 2008 model GS had already rotted away with less use that this one.
Just disappointed with all the niggles I have had so far, which has taken the shine off an otherwise fantastic package.

Yes, found my left hand one missing when I was upgrading the screen. Now wait to find out how much the pin plus littlewashers plus circlips cost, how about over £40 total!!!! mine has a bolt holding it

Lost my left one sometime between picking it up and a week later, bolt in mine now.

Interesting thought it was just me? Might see if I can get a freebee from BMW

My left one went AWOL, but was replaced under warranty whilst Pidcocks were replacing the fuel filler cap assembly - I found the big rubber and steel washers were loose when I opened the cap to fill up with petrol just before Christmas.

Ha! My right one dissapeared and my petrol cap did the same as yours too!! (both done under warranty ..)

The windscreen bolt has a circlip that is obviously vulnerable to coming off.

For those of you that are waiting for your new circlip and bolt .... it's a fiddly fecker to fit and you're almost bound to drop it on your first attempt. Put a blanket or the like under the bike so you find it easily when it drops .....

(I ended up using some some bent long nose pliers to put it on ... )

My left one gone missing. Now got 8mm bolt holding it place. In for service soon, lets see if I can wrangle a freeby off them!

Not ridden my bike for a while but had to move it in the garage just now and bugger me one pin gone and the other hanging on by its teeth!

I've got a pair of the metal ones you can have for £20.:)

I replaced mine with metal ones when I put the big screen on and have never had a problem. Don't put OE plastic ones on, if they've broken one they'll break again....

I feel left out, as mine seems to be intact. Can someone post a photo of what is meant to be missing, before I contact BMW in Bracknell?

Done feel left out! Here you are......

Screen wobble

Where the adjuster slides up and down on the shafts, one of the bushes that make it a nice slidey fit came out of it's housing. Superglued it back and it's ok so far.
