hey up
I have a philips landline phone that I think is driving me nuttier than I already am
Sometimes when I ring out the tuther end cant hear me but I can hear them
Sometimes I get 2 very loud beeps every 60 seconds when using the phone
Sometimes when folk ring me there is no ringing at my end and theirs
Most of the time it works fine
It dont seem to be the weather as it acts up dry or wet days
I know I could but another 80 quids worth to prove it the line or exchange but I cant afford 2 sets of phones for the want of a question on here
so
Does it sound like a phone or exchange/line problem
Thanks if you can help
Its doin me head in

Ring BT, tell them the line is faulty.

Sounds like the phone, is it wireless ?

I would buy a cheap wired phone (Asda or similar) as you can be sure any fault is on BT before calling them and risking a call out charge.

PM me with a contact number, should be able to at least start sorting it out. You may need to spend less than a tenner on a really cheap landline phone or borrow one from next door for testing purposes.

Nick

Beg, borrow or steal any other phone and try that.
This will prove if it's phone or not.

Trust me I'm a teffalone hinjuneer.

I really do appreciate the help and tips
Off for a cheapy and test everything as Nick has sugested
I cant believe how much this intermittent problem has frustrated me
I lost it completely earlier and started thinking of going back to work
Cheers again
