Buggered old geezer does France...

And from the Dordogne to the Loire.
The only motorway day today, but mostly quiet ones passing through delightful French scenery.
I can report that the plipetypop gadget in the windie worked and allowed us entry to and exit from the peage painlessly and stress free. I can also report that the gilets jaunes and breathalyzer thingies worked perfectly. Monzo has done us proud and booking.com has provided us with shelter and succour in our travels. All good. We also gained access to the continent with ease, despite the efforts of the good Lord and Neptune.....don't really understand what all the stress is about.20230713_161058.jpg

A beautiful hotel in the equally beautiful village of Chavignol, just outside Sancerre, in the heart of the famous appelation.
Still opportunities for roofers...20230713_161119.jpg

Our lodgings for the night...

Check out Hôtel Le Troubadour à Rocamadour on Booking.com! https://www.booking.com/Share-qXXhk8A

I live in hope of being able to post a photy from my gallery without having to go back in and reduce the 'size' by 80%.....if I wasn't serene and on me holidays I could get irritated......

And a drive thogh the pretty lanes along the Dordogne valley to supper in Rocamadour. A pizza...no photys as someone will take the piss...worth noting that most restos close at 9....
Only local food allowed. I read it here. ;)

Gimme a break man....the local grub revolves around foie gras and duck....both of which I love, but someone is bound to get the hump....I washed my pizza down with local 'pression'...does that help?

Nope. I got stick on my travel thread for having pizza. Also for both of us having the same ;)

Forgot to mention a great highlight of the trip....just leaving the hotel to start the journey north and west, and what was there but a small flock of Hoopoes.....look it up Chris...these extraordinary little birds do visit...rarely...the UK, but I've never seen one before...a real treat but sadly not able to get a pic..

Should say its not suitable for biker mates, as the parking is on the road...

Bastille Day dawns fresh and clear. Being a clever chap I had filled up with gazole yesterday ...many places just shut on 14 July...however the automatic card pumps are pretty much everywhere now.
