Decided it was about time i updated the maps on Zumo 550. Went to Garmin site and purchased said upgrade no prob. Problem came when i went to install. Seems that i have a differnt serial number on my unit to the one i registered.
Quite simply, the serial number on the box the hardware came in says one thing, and the serial number on the unit says another and states it is registered to someone else.....and wont let me download my £50 map i just bought.

Help! What can i do. Have e mailed Garmin so await a reply. I have hda the unit for 2 or 3 years now, and this is the first time i have tried to update anythnig on it. I KNOW it is my unit, coz its got all my data in it etc.

I had a similar problem and there seems to be some confusion (on Garmins part) over the unit ID and the serial No. I eventually used the number on the sticker inside the bottom of the unit (by the usb port) though cant recall if that was the serial or the unit No - try all the combinations - one will probably work!
