I'm so tempted to buy it back. I've just mentioned it to Mrs FatAl as it used to be her now deceased brothers bike before I had it. Her reply "oh my God, not again, you're forgetting we're redecorating the house, getting a new three piece for the lounge and got three holidays to pay for"......."yes dear" I didn't try to argue. :( As they say on Dragons Den, "I'm afraid I'm out"

Had a friend, hardened biker, who sold his Ducati 900ss bevel years ago to fund setting up home with his long term girlfriend, soon to be wife. She wanted him to keep it, his pride & joy, said they’d manage. He should have listened. The same machine today, even in a depressed market, would be at least GBP 20k if you could find one. The free peace sweet would be knackered, available free on many back street corners… Priorities

Classic Bike Guide this month, whole article about the Ducati 750, 900SS development and current values.

Somehow I don't think it would work. I remember buying a new Harley FXDX Superglide Sport, I told her I was going to buy it but she didn't pay much attention until I brought it home. Through gritted teeth she seethed "that bloody bike should have been our new conservatory" In the doghouse for a week so I fecked off to Scotland for a week and got the bike run in :D The conservatory got built 18 months later much to her delight.

I'm out of the Airhead trawl at the moment but there's irony there that there's more character and value in that bonny GS than in a thousand butchered lookalike custom/hipster whatever versions... I would put it nicely in the middle of my VFM ratings...👍

Go on ... Go on ... Go on ... Go on ... Go on :D

And if you don't weaken ... There's a bike with excellent provenance for any buyer!

It's not worth breaking the marital harmony at the moment, the Mrs has had a hard time the last 12 months and is making a good recovery from kidney cancer. I don't want to have a row over it.
I've had a few airheads besides the above R100GS which I owned for ten years. I've had an R80/7, R100S and R80ST. I've now got a Moto Guzzi V85tt and a Royal Enfield 650 Interceptor sat in the garage so I've enough to occupy me.
At the moment I've a lot of expenditure going on with holidays and revamping the house including furniture. I am though kicking myself for not finding out about that 961 Norton Commando offer on PCP, it was ridiculously cheap monthly payments and deposit, I might have just gone for that as it wouldn't use much capital, she probably wouldn't have minded about that.

PCP, spawn of the devil, don’t get sucked into “it’s only £### a month sir, once your in that spin cycle it never ends😬

I'd love to own this. I've always had a soft spot for a BumbleBee.

I'd need to sell a few bikes to make space though.

Bike has been withdrawn from sale, I’ve been fettling it over the last few weeks, bevel box oil seal started weeping so I’ve renewed all the oil seals while it was apart and inspected the gearbox etc.my mate has decided he’s keeping it.
