Doing a clean out at W/e and found my one week old ( at the time when busted ) 12 XL Garmin , with the smashed screen.
Who repairs and is it expensive. Everyting else is fine , know this as we downloaded all the back traks from the event at the time.
Shame to chuck it out- and seeing as the 2610 I have does not work on batteries!
Regards

I have to admit that I don't even know what a 12XL is (other than my waist size) - but I understand Garmin have a fixed price repair policy (I believe it's £140 for the 2610, for example). Give them a ring and ask what it'll cost to put right...

Mike:)

It may not be worth it to repair an old 12 XL

A modern equivalent would be a GPS 76

I don't know how much Garmin will charge for repairing the 12XL but if it's less than about £75 I'd consider it worth it. The 12XL is still one of the better "off-road" GPS's.

If you decide the repair isn't worth it then I'd be happy to buy it "as is" for a small sum just to have as a spare - the screen isn't necessary for everything you can do with a GPS ;)

Garmin 12XL for sale...

Hi guys...

Well if you're interested I have a 12XL, mint condition, only been used about 3 times, which any sensible offer will secure...

i have with it, the full manual, box, and also an in car power supply and data lead which enables the power to be taken from cigarette lighter socket, and plugs it into a laptop to use GPS positioning with a route software such as microsofts Autoroute etc... works wonders, that's what i used it for, it took me to spain and back a couple of times... other than that... it's been all packed up....

All yours, if ya want it.... :D
