The bike is held in eBay secure warehouse

I agree price with vendor

They tell ebay

( I think this is barclays Bank)

They ship bike to me

I have 3 days to inspect bike

If no they come and collect and give me my dosh back

Is this pucker or am I being paranoid
Nigerian scams and all that
as I said I am a virgin (oooer) at eBay

comments advice or what have you please

Personally I'd only buy or sell a bike direct............... when you or they come with cash only

Same rules as any other private vehicle sale

I'd want to see, hear and feel the goods before parting with my cash:thumb

I've bought and sold quite a lot off Ebay and never had a problem, but ive never bought something for thousands of pounds that i've not looked at and inspected prior to handing over money!

Personaly, (and it is just that, a personal opinion!) I would want to see what I'm buying before paying. For me the idea of a sale that doesn't meet my expectations and the hassle of sending it back ... trying to get a refund ... Not for me!

I'm sure you'll get bods replying saying that they've done deals like this and it was fine .... :thumb

....... four minutes and four similar replies! Says it all really! :thumb

Buyer Beware.
If its too cheap then its no good. Sorry but if you cannot afford to buy from a very reliable source or BMW dealer with all the guarantees and back up do not buy. :rob

Personally my arse starts twitching when I hear the words "shipping" and "moneygram".

But I have sold a bike on eBay and the buyer never saw it before bidding. He drove down to fetch it with a trailer and when I asked him if he wanted to ride it round to the front of the house (after paying obviously) he declined and virtually begged me to ride it round for him. It was one of the smoothest sales ever.

The man paid top whack for the bike and hadn't even sat on it. :eek

IThey ship bike to me

There's the big giveaway (as if you needed any), along with the bike being in an ebay secure warehouse .

Ask ebay if they have a secure warehouse where they keep sellers vehicles.

It's a scam.

Ive brought 3 bikes of ebay recently and i have never heard of a secure warehouse and always inspect first before handing over the cash.

if it sounds dodgy it normally is :thumb2

scam?

It sounds perfectly acceptable to me, however I have the same deal for you, send me your monies instead and I will deliver very nice bike to you:augie:augie:augie

There are so many genuine bike on eBay and I personally have bought 5 over the years. I always agree a price but on the agreement that it is as described with no big feck off probs to be found (unless listed:augie).

Absolutely no probs and i always have a good phone chat 1st to get a genuine idea.

As for "secure warehouses" or "moneygram" or similar then they just say scam and probaly Nigerian stylee. Ignore or if they ring, email etc you can always add a feck off....:augie

Shark infested waters......! And that's just the motor trade in general...:augie:D

I have bought my last two bikes off EBay. In both cases I went to the seller in each case, with cash. I travelled by rail to both sellers homes and then had a look at the bikes and rode home on each.

Have to say in both my experiences, absolutely no problems and on both occasions the sellers were really decent folks.

Made up with both bikes.

Take your time picking one to go for, go in person to inspect it and be prepared to travel for the right one.

This secure garage method sounds like boll*x to me.

Do it the old fashioned way and you won't get stung.

Good luck! :thumb2
