Buying a GS abroad

Has any bought their GS from abroad ?
i.e. from the Netherlands or where they make the things, Germany ?

I've just spent a little time browsing BMW Gebrauchtmotorrad Börse. www.bmw.de will take you there. Looks like you can get the equivalent GS that is 1 year newer than the UK price.

I guess as I'll be looking to buy a vehicle registered older than 6 months I can get away without paying VAT if its a private sale, just need to get a certificate of conformity from BMW in Bracknell to register it.
