Bought a brand new 2008 1200GS from Mottorad Central in Glasgow in 2008, even had the servicing done there as well as it was included in the deal, just a bimble up the road from the ferry terminals.

I'm not paying more. The difference in price, it'll still be cheaper for me to go to England, not much cheaper though.
A few years back I walked into the showroom of the "big organisation" and I was treated like something you would scrape of the sole of your shoe, and I haven't forgotten, hence my decision to deal elsewhere.

I would be up front with uncle charlie and tell him what you can but it for. Worth a try but not worth cutting off your nose to spite your face. I felt the same as you with one of the salesmen but i dealt with the boss no problem. Hope this helps.
