bye bye 800

Ahhh I remember that ... if he's the culprit - alleged culprit ...

it was f*cking ridiculous then, and it's still f*cking ridiculous now... even more so that he's hung onto it for so long, and had been namelessly lurking

Hey - I'm still the good Greg ok!

Jonathon

really sorry things turned out this way.. but hey look on the bright side..

you are young and in fine health

you crammed more adventure into your first two years on a bike than most dreamers do in twenty years,

you set a new world record for the number of miles achieved from a back tyre!

and

at least Rudimoto will have to bend someone elses pride and joy now:D

good luck mate

oh...

don't forget.. you hired a bmw for two years (hire purchase:thumb) then gave it back off hire... no shame in that! you had a blast, made a lot of friends for life and earned big respect from them all

walk tall Jonathon (and ignore cuntona800 or whatever he is called

Sadly missed not !

You should have put the bike up for sale
I have a spare spot in my workshop and a big pocket full of cash ready and waiting for such an oppertunity to come along
could have added another 30,000 miles on it and made sure it was properly used, not just run in :JB

Just think about all the bike meets and rallies you will be missing too, and all those excellent European roads lol

Clue in "Every dog has it's day"?

Blimey I just looked up that Scrapdog. he's quite a character.

I thought it might be Rudiemoto or Stevie73 as they like to take the micky from time to time but I consider them friends and they wouldn't take the nastiness that far. They also don't live in the East Midlands. I know Stevie is somewhere in the Balkans now and Rudiemoto was at the Windmill pub the other night at a GSer meeting so I'm at a loss as to who the lurker is.

The only person I've ever really taken the piss out of is Puma :D but he gives as good as he gets and its all just fun banter centered around the bikes and I'd consider him a new friend.

So perhaps its someone who is jealous  I'm not fussed. Bike or no bike there are a lot of good people on here and I'll enjoy the banter either way.

That are really awfull news...
I may don't know you well Jon...but as I had told you and in person ...I was following the posts of the guy with the nickname 'everywherevirtually' during the period that I was looking to buy a motorbike...

I always believe that even at the last moment the things can change...so I hope that the same will happen to you and before you give back your bike...something will happen and you will continue to ride not only will with the mind but also with your 800...

I'd like to think that BMW were playing an April fool but sadly they are a day early.

When the head honcho says:

""No obligation from our side to give any special assistance to this person! - we hardly know him...............""

even though I've met the bloke twice and ended up on the homepage in Germany it kind of kills the desire to actively promote the product anymore. I was trying to negotiate a way where I could keep the bike in Bankruptcy. I would still pay BM the same amount every month, for the same duration, with the same final figure. Nothing would change except the name. See it as reverse sponsorship where I pay for the privilege.

because someone I know at BM could not just say no and had to be rude by CC'ing me the above statement they ultimately lose out.

They will get a bike back that has a bent rear sub-frame, a bent footpeg hanger, a fried headlight from the HID's that has done 33,000 miles and because I'll go bankrupt they will just be another creditor thrown into the melting pot. They are too big and arrogant to care about a minno like me despite the stuff I've managed to do in the last two years.

It was an interesting chapter but there are other bikes out there and other adventures to be had and of course I will be back at the meets again in the future I hope :beerjug:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/everywherevirtually/4466249700/" title="BMW F800GS by everywherevirtually, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4032/4466249700_965b582a42.jpg" width="500" height="281" alt="BMW F800GS" /></a>

It is with great sadness that I have to hand back my F800GS. The recession has bitten me hard and I can’t afford the bike anymore.

I could only afford such an expensive bike on finance and I can be glad I had two great years on it seeing places and meeting people others only dream of. For that I am grateful and privileged but 6 months out of work has meant that the time has come to part company with my bike.

BMW would not allow me to move the agreement to another EU state or another name.

The timing could have been better. Handing a bike back as you enter winter time would be easier to swallow but handing it back as we approach summer is particularly hard.

With luck and a fair wind I will emerge on the other side, stronger, happier and with a new bike.

It may not be a BMW but it will hopefully inspire the same spirit of adventure.

As the tagline says on the website. The adventure begins in your head.

Jonathan

Gonna miss your posts mate, the forum won't be the same without your adventures on it Jon,things will pick up i'm sure. I've sent pm.:beerjug:

my apologies for my stupidity....but I really don't understand that....
you offer them the opportunity to continue pay them the money for the money...under under whatever name...and they don't accept that...
I really don't understand that...that is really arrogant from them...

Unbelieveable....

I don't post much.
I don't own a BMW, or even a bike at the moment.
But I've gotta make some comments here.

Firstly, Jon, I'm very sorry to read about what has happened to you. Your upbeat spirit and attitude indicate to me that you deserve to do well and will do well - you'll recover and you have my best wishes for the future. Keep your chin up, chap.

Secondly, I don't know who this total prick is that has tried to kick you when you're down. But whoever you are, fuckstick, little le800gs or whatever your name is, get a life, son. You have really embarrassed yourself on this forum and shown yourself to be a thoroughly nasty little man (?) and a coward to boot.

Thanks!
Perhaps not my first choice of first post, but I did feel kind of strongly about this....

I just wandered into this thread...having been far too self obessed to notice before.

sorry to hear the news, I'm still working on some web work for you and will let you know if it turns into anything.
