Twas a tad early for me and looking over where you were the weather looked horrible. Did you see any rain and how was it?
It rained heavily at the start, and the end. The bit in the middle was mostly OK, but I did call it a day up near Tideswell (Limestone way) when it started closing in in the afternoon. I bumped into a couple of groups of bikes, I was quite jealous as they could share the gate opening and closing
. I did get a bit stuck going up the lane near Froggat (Excelsior ?) as lost momentum and if I'm honest bottle too being solo.I prefer to get out early if possible, but appreciate not everyone's different.
I'm aiming to be out a week on Saturday 24th starting from Tideswell to finish a route I started above. Start at 9am, meeting near the Post Office/Co-op. The route finishes in Matlock.
Adventure bike suitable as long as it has suitable tyres, last time I did this route I had a Himalayan and an Africa twin with me with reasonably competent riders. Probably not an ideal beginner route.
First lane will be going down Limestone way (or whatever it's called) which I'm always a little apprehensive about.
