As the anti fog coating on the visor pretty much disappeared first washday can someone let me know if they've successfully fitted either a Fog City or pinlock system. Love the helmet but can't be doing with the misting up. Oh and it was one of the best (only beaten by the system 5) helmets according to the new SHARP tests, only 2 helmets that the locking mech didn't fail on :thumb2

Fog City fitted to my C2 without difficulty. Misting problems solved completely. I'm not sure mine ever had a coating on the visor, prior to the Fog City it would mist even on a dry day!

Bought a Pinlock Universal Fitting kit for about £18 delivered. Took 5 mins of careful drilling to fit (hint, use a small pilot to start the hole).

For 99% of my journeys its worked perfectly - only really had a problem once when I let rain water get inside the visor. Best leave the visor in the closed position unless fully stationary.

Cheers, spoke to someone at one of the stands yesterday at the show and she reckons I should get a replacement visor but think I'll go down the fog city route as A. I'd just have the same problem with a new visor and B. it's cheaper than a pinlock. The new C3 apparently comes with a pinlock but no city setting on the visor?:)

Had just the same as Ned....C2 about 18 months old and steams up like the Flying Scotsman. Talked the problem over with my local Schuberth shop and he is sending it back for replacement. He didn't recommend the pinlock because the visor is curved in 2 planes ie vertical and horizontal and he didn't think the seal would be good enough. He did have a stick-on system that he thought might work (can't remember the name though...not Fog City). I suspect that Schuberth know that the visors will steam up after a while and will simply replace them if you ask/demand.

My winter helmet is set up with a fog city and that works OK, balancing the ventilation helps lots and the city setting on the visor is very good.

Locking mech on my first helmet failed at 30,000mls there is a bowden cable that joins both latches when that fails there is little chance of getting the helmet off without damaging it, luckily mine failed when I was'nt wearing it but since then I carry a small torx/allen key to remove the two small screws under the oval black plastic cover, this allows the helmet to unlatch its still a fiddle but it would be better than cutting it off.

washing up liquid on the inside is pretty good.

Worked for me last week on my Concept in a hailstorm/snowstorm then heavy rain as i descended from on high...pity the gloves, boots, and trousers all leaked..:(

Ah! that what I used and after the bowden cable on mine failed I came to the assumpion that the salt contained in the washing up liqiud eventually corroded the latching mechanism:(
I no longer use washing up liquid and both my current c2's no longer suffer from rust in the chin piece.

I was at the NEC yesterday and moaned at the guy on the Schubert stand about the anti fog coating peeling off the visor on my C2 and he replaced the visor free of charge. Which was very nice of him, thank you very much. I asked how I could ensure it didn't happen again. He told me they had fixed it. His English wasn't very good but I gather it was a manufactuering fault which they have how rectified. Good of them to let everyone know then ! I suspect that's why they have gone dowm the pinlock route with the new C3
