I have looking in from the sidelines for a while..........

I had a chat with Roger today and got some info on the project

I am now seriously interested in doing something like this; It's for a for a good cause and I want to ride in another continent.

So put me down!

Tom

Welcome Tom :thumb2

hindi? chinese would probably be more useful these days

Are we getting excited yet? :JB

Ive beed looking at this and would love to do this but Im having a lot of problems with my back so Im thinking about support type role having 2 4x4 vehicles to choose from if this would help ? plus the company I work for will help with fund raising

Accommodation en route

I might not be able to go on the trip but would like to be involved. As far as accommodation is concerned I might be able to help there, even if it is beddign down on the floor, settees and some spare beds.

I am in Dunfermline (near Edinburgh for those that don't know) which is not a bad days ride from Raasay, taking into account ferries and slower Scottish trunk routes (we've not yet embraced the motorway age you know).

I might also be able to arrange some other places to bed down on the journey if necessary.

Mind you, I would still prefer to travel as well...

I'll bring R1100GS. Its fitted with 41lt tank so can act as fuel tanker for other bikes. Its been to Morocco before so knows its way there. I've driven the route down to The Gambia with Plymouth Dakar Challenge in 2005 so know the fun of the border crossings etc.

Of course HRH has fitted larger tankage as well but he'll need his :augie

One thought, with all that air resistance from the HUGE tank, you probably wont need any front brakes, just make sure the throttle has a good return spring ;)
