Cambrian Rally 2009

i feel a challenge looming mr miles!!!!!!!

I get good places due to the misfortune of others, a quick look at the Cambrian stage times show that for me to be a challange I'd have to find a way of going 50% faster or we'd need a handicap that will slow you down by 65%.

I've got it - If you race with Brian E riding pillion I might just stand a chance :D

Which bike will you take to the Alto and what's your navigation like ?

We just need a joint effort on getting Boundsey into the Sports bike class - fancy going halves on buying him a 450 ;-)

Rumour has it he is riding a 450 next year.

I've heard other riders are looking at the Trail bike class.

my navigation isnt bad, i dont know what bike to ride next year i am not sure what to do i would like to do some rallys over the pond ,but to do that iwill have to sell my hp2mm so thinking of that,as for brian E as a pillian i know he is brave but not that brave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have seen some of brian e times and he is quick so dont do your result at the alto down mate, to finish first first you have to finish evry one who races knows that . and a result like that is one hell of an achivement you should be very proud

Navigation is what you need to win the Alto. look at Paul's result last year. a canny rider but he navigated all week waited for others to fall off/ get lost. he's confident with his navigation.

Brian is right here. It is all about navigation and riding the course correctly. If you try and ride as quickly as you do on a UK "dayglo arrow" course you will make big mistakes on navigation as you simply can't ride that fast and navigate.

This was a big difference on day 1 on the Alto Turio a couple of years ago for me - plus the road book can be quite demanding on your mental endurance.

Having said that long days on a roadbook for navigation is great - I'll be dong the Alto Turio in 2010.

That's good for the Trail bike class isn't it - even if Boundsey moves to sports bike it would be good to have more entries in the trail bike class.

The problem is - which bike do you chose for the trail class which at least gives you some competitive performance?

There isn't much choice out there.

So you are not planning on riding in the Big Bike Rally Challenge then? This needs to over 600cc !!

Whats the Big Bike Rally Challenge? Tell us more !

I am in the throes of starting the Bike Bike Rally Challenge for 2010. Andy Cadney was running the Big Bike Challenge but it has been pretty dormant for 2009, so we were going to do our own thing and keep it really up to date after events.

We have to agree on a points system.

It will be run on the lines of taking the Big Bikes - over 575cc - from each event and keeping a league table going for the following events:

Tarrenig
Ryedale
Beacons
Radnor
Cambrian
Hafren

Classes will be for singles and twins.

We will have cups for winners in each class and a meet up related to each event as we have some level of support and sponsorship already.

Input and comments on this are welcome.

Burt

Looks like I'll have to re-build the 640 or get a 690R ;-)

I did get an email from Andy last week suggesting that he was going to finalise the BBC results for 2009 after the Hafren, the results prior to that are up on the site.
