Camera mounting suggestions

Do you find it vibrates? I'm not 100% happy with mine

I cut a piece of thick foam to size and stuck it to the bracket. Initially this was to raise the camera over the front lip but I believe it also assists in taking any vibration away. The camera also sits at the centre of the bracket rather than on the outside edge.

I mounted my camera using the L/H indicator mounting screw position.

Get a fully threaded bolt the same diameter and thread as the indicator mounting screw. Put the mount bracket on with a couple of washers between the forks. put on two nuts to lock it in position, but don't tighten. Then put two more nuts on the bolt, and screw the bolt into the indicator mount. tighten the two nuts (locknuts), then tighten the other two nuts to lock the camera mount. The bolt I have is 9cm long

Just checked, spare go-pro mount if bored to 6mm and then flattened at bottom will fit inside mounting bracket for standard gsa spots. Will need 3 flat washers inside mount and several flat/spring washers either side so that mount is centralised, it is unlikely to move due to crashbar and spotlight body.

Worth a look on your own bike; from memory 4 spare mounts (with screw for camera body) were around £2 including p&p off ebay.

Have one on order but it's for the INNOVV K1 front camera.

Here is how I mounted my K1. Complete thread I made is here http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showth...al-Camera-Motorcycle-Dashcam?highlight=innovv I now power it using a HEX EZCan

Love the location for the rear camera. I had mine in a similar position on the Tiger but I made my own bracket for it because I seem to remember that it needed to go further down or the view would be obstructed. It looks like a standard "L" shaped one from B&Q will do for this one. I hadn't considered that, so thanks for the illustration, very useful. I was trying to design I bracket for under the luggage rack but I shall give this a try.

The front one, though, doesn't that position severely restrict the view of the right side?

I will have a look at your link so these questions may be answered already. Where did you get the feed from? I have just bought a BMW harness to female USB for the power feed to the control box (I could have bought the same with a mini USB plugging directly into the control box but I wanted the extra length of the supplied USB just in case I needed it) GZM-QLITE-CAN-04 from Nippy Normans. The great thing about this harness is that the poutput is 5v thereby eliminating voltage converter.

Where did you locate the control box? There's not a lot of room under the seat and it's exposed to the elements under there. I could fit a kitchen sink under the Tiger seat and it was weather proof (if you taped up the holes for the luggage system). I have an aluminium bracket for the handlebars but it too is exposed to the elements there as it would be screwed to the bracket. I'm not over keen on having yet another screen in front of me, TBH, even if it will double up as a rear view camera.

I am presently in the UK, so not near my bike for a few hours but looking at the EZ CAN installation video it says you plug it into the RDC (the TPMS module under the seat). I seem to remember a big sticker saying that anything plugged into this will render the warranty void. However, I'm not sure if this relates to the smaller lean angle sensor box into which you MUST NOT plug the EX CAN.

Will check it out when I get home. The EZ CAN seems like a good solution but having already bought the aforementioned harness I might just stick with that as I don't really have a need for any other accessories and won't be fitting extra lights or high powered accessories.

I'm torn, though. My INNOVV K1 has had a few issues in the past and I'm not sure if it was due interference (solvable with the ferrous thingys), high heat from my Tiger engine (cables routed over it and no longer an issue), dicky connections into the control box, or, as has been mentioned, possibly wavering amperage issues which the EZCAN would solve.
