Can an ABS fault prevent engine running?

Is the ABS system linked to the engine-management system such that an ABS "fault" will stop the bike starting? Or are they totally separate (would seem sensible)?

It's linked, but only for the purposes of error reporting. The ZFE module manages all reporting. A fault in the ABS module will not keep the BMS-K module from managing/operating the engine.

Thanks Ken. I don't feel as nervous about my new GSA coming with ABS now!

Should have added the Caveat that if the ABS failure light comes up due to servo error you only have "residual braking" (read next to bugger all!!). Had it happen and its a little scary! So much so, that I've just taken delivery of BNIB non ABS 1200......Loving it !!!
