Can anybody help me identify this part number on my GS?

It looks to me like an aftermarket part. The unadorned view of the cardan drive would show a wide metal cylinder which the plastic part in question hides. Try Evotech as that might be a complementary part to the crash bung pictured.

Knee is not looking too clever after the bike landed on it but I am hoping it is just bruised.
I notice the drive case is scratched as well.
Guess the cheapest way to deal with it is to clean up and paint the scratched area and then install this one:

You can see that it took a big whack and I am pretty sure it would have prevented damage to the other components were it not for the bike hitting the kerb. I think that is where the additional damage to the rear hub components occurred.
And I have ordered another so I guess I must have faith that it saved my bike from a lot more scratches!! That said, there was £4.5K of cosmetic damage!

I think the damage to the casing is due to it hitting the kerb, rather than sliding down the road.
Third fall in 32 years of riding occurred last week. Second time this year though!! Same thing. Beautiful early morning. Hit black ice. Bike down and frame whacked same knee in same place. Brilliant.
