Thanks Mick , a suggestion !.... no one else seems to have any ideas .
Have you seen one before ?

I reckon it's different to that one. Pete's has a threaded pre load adjuster and what looks to be a damping adjuster clicker on the bottom. Most likely after market but without any markings who knows.

Pete, have you taken it off and had a look for any ID? Try sending a pic to http://www.shocktreatment.com.au, they might be able to ID it and let you know about rebuilding etc.

Thanks mate ,it's OK at the moment ,it's just that it's non standard and I have no idea about it and wanted to know who to ask when the time came ....I'll ask Shocktreatment for an ID .

Could be japanese ?
This remembers me Gaxasaki 1000 GTR way of building shocks
Thats definetely not a Fournales

:beerjug: Um ,yep ...Perhaps I could rephrase ...I do know it was English ...but how many BMW shockers have Italian text on them ?

Might it be an Italian aftermarket job "?

In Oz Uncle ...( I had an Uncle Vern , sorry !:) Nice bloke too .)

We're a long way from Italy but the mails work .

OK ,I followed your advice ,emailed Shocktreatment and got the following reply .

Peter
I would not be so sure that the shock isn't standard. It would appear to be
either a Boge or a Marzocchi, both of which have been supplied as standard
on BMWs.

How does that sound ?...a new one on me ! But I'm sure he knows his trade a damnsight better than me .

i had one made back in the day for my 80g/s mono ....just built to spec quite common around that time i think...boge tend to have markings on the shocker body.....
