Can I stay connected ifI use XP firewall

I don't like disconnecting all the time, but I don't have a firewall on my laptop. Is windows XP firewall up to the job and if so what options should I be using?

it's pretty effective but only stops stuff getting in. if you get infected with a trojan, it's nice to know that a firewall like zone alarm will stop data going out too.

free version is fine.

I use Zonealarm on all my machines.....it performs very well.
(I'm behind a belkin router as well but i'vce tested it as a standalone many times)

Once you've got it installed, go to one of these sites....

Trojan scanner

and have it probe your system...it'll give you a report on the page about how secure you are.

OK Guys I've installed Zone alarm. Do I still leave XP firewall on as well or should I turn it off?

Cookie done thanks to the pair of you for the address. easy to install and easy to use. Stopped Outlook for 5 minutes but figured it out OK

Anyone know what "ccap" does?
