Can I update the maps, without using the device’s USB?

I have a 660 which is in good condition, except for the USB socket which has come loose. Is there a means of updating the maps without the USB connection?

I know the USB socket can be repaired, but I don’t feel the unit is worth the cost. If I can’t update the maps in some other way, I’ll probably dispose of it.

I have created you a fresh thread.

Yes and No!! There is no way to update Garmin maps without a USB connection. However, you can put current, Garminised Open Street Mapping on an SD card and insert it into the device and use those maps instead.

The latest Garmin maps for these devices is City Navigator Europe NT2025.1 which were last updated in July 2024. There are no more Garmin map updates for this model, as NT mapping has been "sun downed" by Garmin along with the devices that use this map style, these include the Zumo 2XX, 400,450, 550 and 660 Series and the BMW NAV IV. But they will accept garminised open street maps which are current. Current Garmin mapping is prefixed NTU and has been used on new Zumo Navigators since about 2014.....up to and including the Zumo XT2

To put OSM mapping on a Zumo 660 read this.

Thank you. I’ll give it a try
