Can not calculate route

Hi folks ,

I've created a few short routes in basecamp with a couple of shaping points, if I take a different route the Zumo recalculates ok past the first point , but then if I try to miss the next shaping point I get the message "no roads near destination can not calculate route "

I've tried this on three different routes to places I've navigated to in the past .

Any ideas ?

1. Are you sure that the problem only occurs on recalculation of the route, ie. before the forced recalculation occurs, the route is displayed and runs quite normally?

2. Are you sure the second point (the one that the device cannot re-calculate a route to) is actually on - or very close to - a road?

3. What settings do you have your device set to? For instance, do you have it set to 'Avoid unmade roads' or something similar?

4. What happens if you turn re-calculate off?

5. What happens if you un-tick all the devices settings, avoidances etc?

I had something similar happen last week. Planned a long route. Got halfway and suddenly my mapping disappeared. The favourites etc (data) but the nuvi had no idea how to get there! Deleted route, Restarted theloo system, and imported custom route again and it worked. Made me think hard drive or memory is failing. Unit still knew where I was but just no maps to see.

One of the points was a bit away from a road, but not much.
Anyway I tried it again today and it seems ok, so hopefully that was the issue.

Oh, and in response to Wapping's first query - yes it was fine until I went past the turn for the second point and it needed to recalculate.
