canbus question

I've just bought this lead http://www.nippynormans.com/product...mtom-gps-into-the-bmw-harness-gar-canbuszu660 to make use of the spare plug in my wiring loom under the clocks for powering my Sat nav.
The supply I assumed would be switched with the ignition and I tested it with my multimeter and right enough it switched with the key but once nav connected to it when I turn the bike of nav stays powered like the feed is permanent.
Is this the case ?

It usually stays live for approx 1 minute, I have known a very low battery on the Sat Nav to keep the Canbus live after the usual minute.

Ahh ok that makes sense I'll give that a try and report back.

When I switch the ignition off my zumo 660 stays on for a few minutes.
