Just thought I should give the 1150 a service and also treat her to new plugs. Seems she is still fond of the old ones and wont let go! The plug may be slightly rounded, tried other options including-flank drive sockets and 5/8. Any one any ideas which do not involve removing cylinder head or buying another bike ( which I did, well maybe more than 1).

Thanks

Difficult to comment without seeing the problem. Heating the head & freezing the plug with R134a has it's merits, but you still need to be able to get a grip on the plug body or, dare I say, wreck the ceramic element & use an extractor. Doubtless you have tried Dr. Google already - here's just one guys take .......... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JijVI3RTkMY

Hi based in Dorset. Will finish the service and get the motor as hot as possible get some more acf on the threads and make a prayer!

Seems that leave it running for 15 mins and then use a turned down socket and you can get them out!!

Thank for the advice folks.

Good to hear… I know that it’s a tight fit in there and I don’t have a socket that reaches, but my toolkit has the right stuff in for removing the plugs so I use that.

You don't have to remove the cylinder head.
Just remove the valve cover. Only 4 bolts.
Then you get better access to the spark plug.
