Guys,

I need some help, I have recently bought a TomTom XXL car sat nav, (it's the one with the large 5" screen.)

I want to use it on my GSA but I am struggling to find a holder. I am not worried about it being waterproof and I don't want to have to put it in a tank bag type holder.

I just want it securely (but not necessarily locked) mounted to the handlebars or the screen frame. Any idea greatly appreciated.....

Hi Dawg,
I bought a bracket from my local dealer that fits to the cross bar on the screen (it's an Adventure screen). I then bought a sat nav bag from Motohaus and bolted it to the bracket. I also drilled a hole in the back of the bag and glued a charging lead plug into it. Now whenever I want to use the sat nav from my car i just unzip the bag and slot the socket onto the plug, zip it up and off I go. I know there are several size bags available as I have a small one (Garmin Nuvi 1340) but my mates got a 5" screen in a much larger bag from the same firm. It's not totally waterproof though. That said it is well behind the screen and as long as your moving it seems to stay dry.

Hope this helps.:rob

It has a clip bracket that uses a sucker pad that sticks to a round metal plate which in turn is stuck to the dash by double sided tape. Once unclipped it has nothing attached to the sat nav. My son's Tom Tom has a built in mount, if I remember correctly, and this might make it more difficult to use on the bike.

i recently bought one from ebay for my car sat nav, nuvi 265w.fits on the bar across the screen.£1.98. delivered from china, and came in 7 days.

Take a look at mountguys.com. I recently purchased a mount for my Garmin car Sat Nav from them. It bolts on to the cross bar and is an excellent job.

Cheers!

I recently bought the Givi s950 holder which comes with a mounting bracket and it has a cable hole in the side used it on the GSing the Kingdom ride. It worked great and definitely has the room to take your tom tom. I used in conjunction with a SW Motech cable and plugged the Satnav straight into the power socket on the bike.

I have a tomtom start which uses a ball and socket in the back of the cradle,
made up a mount to fit satnav bar.have you a pic of unit from rear?

Watch out for vibration when using a rigid mount to fix a car sat-nav to a bike. I killed 4 eTrex units that way before I saw the light.

I had a Tom Tom 910 fitted to my bike with a holder and bracket attached to a Ram bracket. it worked extremely well but alas the Tom Tom died. I still have the bracket if it fits yours I'd be happy to sell it at a bargain/reasonable price? Let me know if you think it would be ok?

Here's a pic of the bracket to give an idea.
