card readers?

Hi,

I have a 2610 and I can load maps, routes and waypoints to and from the gps via the usb lead. The problem I have is that I can't do this with a card reader.

I bought a sandisk 8-1 card reader. I am running xp and the drives from the card reader show up on device manager and are working correctly.

I try to send maps and routes to the card via the card reader and I can only transfer maps. I cannot transfer routes or waypoints.

I have read the faqs on the garmin site and searched here and could not find the solution.

I read the mapsource manual more carefully and it says

"you can only transfer maps to and from a cf or sd card. No other data types can be transferred".

question answered.

Must be the same as SPIII - maps go on to card, everything else goes into a separate memory area in the device.
